Job Description:

The Commis 1 is responsible for preparing and cooking food items in accordance with recipes and standards set by the kitchen leadership team. This position requires a strong foundation in culinary techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes within the area of responsibility.
Ensure consistent food quality and portion control.
Assist in mise-en-place preparation and station setup.
Follow hygiene, health, and safety standards in the kitchen.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and storage areas.
Support Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations.
Ensure proper labeling and storage of ingredients and leftovers.
Report any kitchen equipment issues to the Chef/Supervisor.
Assist in inventory control and receiving of goods.
Adhere to all company and kitchen SOPs and policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Commis Chef or similar role in a reputable kitchen.
Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or related field (preferred).
Good knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene standards.
Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.
Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and culinary techniques.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
